Since 1980, Modutek has been providing “System Integration” solutions and leading-edge technologies to our customers throughout the world.  We are a complete “design and build” manufacturer of automated Wet Process Equipment and Environmental Systems that can be customized to meet your specific applications.

We offer a broad based product line with manufacturing flexibility in our 40,000 + square foot facility located in Silicon Valley – San Jose, California.  Our in-house engineering staff has a combined 100 + years of experience in the design of wet process and environmental systems used in the markets we serve.

Our Staff

Thomas W. Gross, Chief Executive Officer

Tom Gross has been the CEO of Modutek since 1983. Tom leads the Modutek team with over 40 years of executive management experience in the Medical, Aerospace and Microelectronics fields.

Prior to Modutek, Mr. Gross co-founded and spent 15 years at ADAC Laboratories, a Medical device company located in Silicon Valley. Prior to ADAC, Tom served in the Aerospace industry as a Program Manager for ESL, developing electronic reconnaissance equipment, and for Advanced Technology Labs, where he oversaw the development of the Horizon sensor used on the OGO and Gemini manned space programs.         

Mr. Gross graduated from University of Arizona with a BS in Electrical Engineering and received his MSBA from San Jose State University.

Douglas Wagner, President

Doug Wagner has over 30 years experience in the wet processing sector of the semiconductor industry and microelectronics fields. Doug joined Modutek in 1987 in a technical role and has held the title of President since 1999.

Doug’s knowledge of the semiconductor market and manufacturing processes have been instrumental in growing the company. Under Doug’s leadership, Modutek has evolved from being a supplier of quartz megasonic baths and wet process components in the early stages to the company’s current position of being a key supplier of automated wet process equipment and environmental systems worldwide.

Doug’s integrity, honesty and dedication to customer service, along with his “hands-on” style of management, has earned him and Modutek a loyal following of satisfied customers.

Robert Brody, Director of Operations

Robert Brody joined Modutek in 1989 as Service Manager. Robert’s expertise in this role opened the door for the company to install and service process equipment, provide field support and implement preventative maintenance programs.

Robert was also involved with the integration of Pollution Control Laboratories (PCL), a manufacturer of environmental systems, into the company’s existing product line which allowed the company to provide environmentally sensitive “green” products into all markets served by Modutek.

In addition to his duties as Director of Operations, Robert works with Engineering to ensure manufacturable product designs to fullfill customer needs and requirements.

Mitch Tojima, Director of Engineering

Mitch Tojima brings 25 years of engineering experience to Modutek from the Medical and Semiconductor fields. Prior to joining Modutek, Mitch held the position of Engineering Manager at Sysmax Corporation.

In 2002, when Modutek purchased Sysmax, a manufacturer of automated wet process equipment, Mitch joined Modutek as Director of Engineering. Prior to Sysmax, Mr. Tojima was an Engineering Manager at Hitachi Corporation in San Jose, CA.

Mitch’s experience in automation, robotics and system integration has played a key role in enhancing the company’s existing product line and in bringing new products to market.

Joanne Turley, Director of Finance & Administration

Mrs. Turley joined Modutek in 1998 as Director of Finance.

Joanne has been involved in finance for over 30 years, including 15+ years in the financial sector. In addition to her financial background, Joanne’s organizational skills in business administration, accounting and human resources have been instrumental in the growth of Modutek over the past 13 years.

Joel Olvera, Inside Sales Manager

Joel Olvera joined Modutek in 1989 in a technical role and has been interfacing with Modutek’s customers for over 20 years. Joel works closely with manufacturing and quality control to ensure our customer’s needs are being met.

As Inside Sales Manager, Joel’s product knowledge and dedication to customer service have been a key asset to the success of Modutek.
